Which technique did you practice? Guided Reiki Session- Emotional Release

 

How long did you practice? 45 minutes

 

Please describe how you performed the technique:  Anthony and I sat and discussed what he wanted to work on in this Reiki session. He stated that he is currently overwhelmed due to family challenges, addiction challenges, financial challenges and challenges with relationships in general. I introduced the idea of creating a visualization that encompasses all of the things he feels he wants to change in his life, as well as an affirmation that reflects what he would like to see happen in these aspects of his life.  It took some time, but he was able to create a visualization reflecting his ideal life situation. After this, we worked (and re-worked) an affirmation that reflected what he would like to see happen in his life.  The final affirmation was “ I am at peace and secure with myself, sobriety and the abundance of wealth and healthy relationships in my life.” 

I then began the emotional release session with him lying face down and began scanning and grounding him at this feet.  I then began working on each chakra, from his feet to his head. Once at the crown, I had him roll over onto his back and began at his head with CKR. I asked him to imagine, in detail, the visualization that he had created, depicting his ideal situation.  I then had him to hold on this picture and began to work down through his chakras.  Throughout the session, I repeated the affirmation, and had him to take deep breaths.  Once finished with the session, I encouraged him to work with his affirmation and visualization daily. 

 

Please describe any impressions or intuition you received during the technique:  At the start of the session, when touch his feet, I immediately felt tightness in my chest... and felt very anxious.  When he was laying on his back and I began to work near his heart chakra the thought “Damn, you’re really anxious” came to mind.  I felt his breathing speed up, and attempted to have him focus on his breathing. His breathing would slow down for a brief moment, and would then go back to being rapid again.  Additionally, I felt that he needed to eat something.  Overall, during the treatment, I just felt very anxious.

 

What feedback, if any, did your/partner give you? Following the treatment, Anthony made the following statements: 1. “I just couldn’t fucking keep my mind still,” 2. “My mind was all over the place,” 3.  “You totally blocked my satellite reception when you put your hand on my head,” and 4. I wasn’t able to get my breathing under control.” Anthony was frustrated with himself for not being able to calm his mind down.
